World Sustainable Transport Day is a United Nations observance highlighting the contribution of sustainable transport to economic development, social inclusion and climate action. It provides an opportunity for governments, cities and organisations to showcase initiatives promoting accessible, efficient, safe and low-carbon mobility. The day also draws attention to the importance of transport for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Walk21 brings together policymakers, practitioners, researchers and advocates working to make walking a central part of sustainable and inclusive mobility systems. The event explores how cities can create safer, healthier and more accessible environments for people on foot. Discussions connect walking with public space, road safety, accessibility, climate action and integrated urban planning.
