5 Figures that Shaped MobiliseYourCity’s Growth in 2024 and their Global Impacts

In 2024, MobiliseYourCity reached pivotal milestones in advancing sustainable urban mobility. These five standout figures capture the measurable progress, global reach, and transformative impact of the Partnership’s work, illustrating how planning is rapidly giving way to action.

5 key figures

1. €2.3 billion in leveraged finance

MobiliseYourCity mobilised an impressive €2.3 billion to support the implementation of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) and National Urban Mobility Policies and Investment Programmes (NUMPs). This figure reflects growing global confidence in sustainable mobility and showcases the Partnership’s effectiveness in translating technical planning into financed, real-world transformation.

2. €27.8 billion in identified investment needs

Partner cities collectively highlighted €27.8 billion investment needs, particularly in areas such as active mobility and paratransit reform. This early alignment of priorities supports the development of investment-ready proposals that are responsive to both local realities and global development and climate goals.

3. Partnership grows to 79 cities with nine new members

With the addition of nine new cities in 2024, the Partnership now encompasses 79 member cities across 39 countries across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America reflecting a growing demand for support in sustainable mobility planning. This implies that MobiliseYourCity tools have been instrumental in driving this growth. To illustrate, the 2024 released of the web-based Emissions Calculator, which is built on the widely used Excel version, enables greenhouse gas (GHG) analysis in 26 cities and seven countries. By improving data accessibility, the tool examplifies how effective planning tools can enhance quality of life.

4. 829 urban mobility practitioners trained

In 2024, MobliseYourCity delivered more than 20 online training sessions, reaching 829 urban mobility professionals. These sessions covered topics such as climate adaptation, sustainable financing, and paratransit reform.  Women accounted for 43% of participants, reflecting MobiliseYourCity’s commitment to inclusivity. This share represents a 13.16% increase over the previous year, marking significant progress toward gender equity. This milestone represents a substantial advancement in promoting gender equity in urban mobility leadership. By scaling-up the training offer with over 50 modular training materials, which are available in English, French, and Spanish, MobiliseYourCity has created a replicable and adaptable development package that empowers cities to build their local expertise and sustain mobility reform efforts.

5. 118% Growth in Knowledge Product Use

In 2024, MobiliseYourCity knowledge platform recorded a 118% increase in use, attracting over 44,000 users. The methodological offer including, for instance, tools for paratransit reform and emissions calculator, remained key entry points to the platform. It is important to note that users came from well beyond partner cities and countries. The United States, although not a formal member, ranked among the top sources of engagement, reflecting a strong interest from global institutions and practitioners. Meanwhile, India’s high engagement levels affirmed the continued value of MobiliseYourCity support in the country.

These five figures tell a compelling story of scale, momentum, and global relevance. MobiliseYourCity is no longer just preparing cities for change; it is equipping them to lead it. With increased financing, broader reach, more substantial capacity-building efforts, and growing knowledge exchange, the Partnership is laying the foundation for a future defined by action and impact.
