The recommendations presented in this document were prepared as part of a study funded by GIZ (as part of the MobiliseYourCity Partnership) and carried out by Transitec, in partnership with EcoAccess and Transport for Cairo (TfC).
The main aim of the recommendations is to provide Abidjan's institutional mobility stakeholders with the technical tools and knowledge they need in their current efforts to reform the small-scale transport sector. The current reform process is still in its early stages, focusing mainly on identifying operators and defining a medium-term strategy towards professionalisation through the consolidation of existing services.
This set of recommendations is the result of consultations with local players in Abidjan and discussions during training sessions. The document includes both general recommendations and recommendations specific to Abidjan. The document also presents an initial interpretation of how they relate to each other.
