World Public Transport Day 2026
World Public Transport Day launches on 17 April 2026 and will be celebrated every year on that date. Initiated by UITP together with its partners, this new global campaign highlights the essential contribution of public transport to daily life, vibrant cities, economic progress and more sustainable societies.
The day is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate everything public transport enables for people and communities around the world. Everyone is invited to take part in this international moment, whether by sharing stories online, raising awareness, or organising activities in stations, schools and local communities. Through actions large and small, members and partners across the world will help show why public transport matters.
