The TUEWAS Women Expert database is a crowd-sourced database of women experts working in transport, energy, water, environment/climate, and urbanism.
As women are notoriously underrepresented in Asian scientific conferences and policy events, as well as consultancy work, especially those not organised by international organisations; their voices are not being heard sufficiently. Therefore, the objective of the initiative is to have a platform for women working on Transport, Energy, Environment, Urbanism and Water as well as Gender in the region. This is intended to increase women's participation in the discourse on sustainable development in the TUEWAS sectors and to serve as a platform for women experts from additional sectors, such as biodiversity and ecosystems management.
Asia is filled with outstanding women professionals, and our database aims to showcase women’s talent, connect experts and decision-makers, and offer event organisers a valuable tool to find speakers and disrupt the cycle of men-dominated events.
