This training's main objective is to introduce the MobiliseYourCity Emissions Calculator

•    Developed by: MobiliseYourCity Secretariat
•    Level of Expertise: Fundamental
•    Language: English
•    Keywords: GHG emissions, scenarios

Description

MobiliseYourCity was born at COP21 as a Partnership committed to tackling the climate challenges cities faced to contribute to the Partis Agreement through sustainable urban mobility planning. In this framework, the Partnership made available the Emissions Calculator, a tool to quantify greenhouse gas emissions of urban mobility at the city level. The Emissions Calculator is nowadays a flagship knowledge product of the Partnership, trusted by over 26 cities and 7 countries worldwide.

The training materials unravel the intricacies of GHG accounting for urban mobility through the MobiliseYourCity emissions calculator by teaching to navigate inputs and interpret outputs effectively. Particularly valuable is the guidance on making assumptions when faced with limited data. Moreover, the training materials delve into projecting emissions into the future. The content also explores both Business-As-Usual (BAU) scenarios and climate scenarios, enabling participants to conduct thorough ex-ante analyses for evaluating the potential impact of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) on climate mitigation.
