Since its inception in 2016, the MobiliseYourCity Partnership has been a leading force in disseminating Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) worldwide. Responding to specific urban mobility challenges in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America, the Partnership launched the MobiliseYourCity SUMP Guidelines. Based on the European 'Guidelines for developing and implementing a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan', the MobiliseYourCity SUMP Guidelines bring together European knowledge in sustainable urban mobility planning and insights and lessons learned from its practical implementation in MobiliseYourCity geographies.
In this training session, we will explore the content of this publication in more depth, including the proposed SUMP phases and steps, the MobiliseYourCity implications for the core SUMP principles, and the main features of a modern and sustainable urban mobility system. By learning about the SUMP Guidelines, participants will gain a broad overview of a SUMP, its goals, and its complete development process. In the sessions, some real-implementation cases of MobiliseYourCity SUMPs in Asia will be presented.
