The rapid urbanization of Asian and Pacific cities has led to an increase in the demand for transportation. This has resulted in a rise in traffic congestion, air pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. To address these issues, there is a need to explore smart mobility solutions that are sustainable, efficient, and affordable. This session aims to bring together experts and practitioners to discuss urban mobility and emerging modes of transportation in Asian and Pacific cities.

The session will focus on the latest developments in smart mobility technologies, especially what is serving the modernization of public transportation as well as innovative technical solutions (such as gold standard bus rapid transit systems and urban cable car, increasingly growing as a tangible transit option). The session will also explore the challenges and opportunities associated with the adoption of these technologies in Asian and Pacific cities. Another focus of the session will be on sustainable urban mobility planning.
