The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is a strategic document to assist the city of Zhytomyr in achieving the goals set out in the Integrated Urban Development Concept by 2030, particularly the goal of establishing a comfortable city with modern infrastructure, to improve the quality of life of residents, tourists and business visitors. Zhytomyr’s SUMP focuses on six priorities: (1) strengthening the role of public transport, (2) improving road safety, (3) promoting walking, (4) and cycling, (5) parking management, and (6) external accessibility of Zhytomyr.
The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan for Zhytomyr has been prepared by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with Zhytomyr City Council, within the framework of the Integrated urban development in Ukraine project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Swiss Federation State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
