On 29 April, we will host an online event structured in three sessions exploring how African cities and stakeholders can advance the electrification of the paratransit sector, in collaboration with our partners C40 Cities and TUMI.

World Public Transport Day launches on 17 April 2026 and will be celebrated every year on that date. Initiated by UITP together with its partners, this new global campaign highlights the essential contribution of public transport to daily life, vibrant cities, economic progress and more sustainable societies.  

This conference aims to launch a concrete process through which a coalition of committed countries, subnational governments and relevant stakeholders can identify and advance practical pathways for a just, orderly and equitable transition away from fossil fuels. The process will be informed by the experience and perspectives of governments, academia, Indigenous Peoples, civil society, workers, the private sector and other key actors involved in different stages of the transition.

Mobco is a leading event dedicated to sustainable mobility, created through the merger of two major sector gatherings. It brings together a wide range of stakeholders every year, including public decision-makers, transport operators, industry experts, and mobility professionals, to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore solutions for the future of mobility.
