Description

This training set explores the need for funding and finance of cycling and walking and the funding and finance options available to cities at various levels of government, from local to national to international. Walking and cycling are critical modes of transport, providing several benefits to society. However, effectively improving these modes' conditions requires money to fund the infrastructure, services, and maintenance needed for their support. The training set uses several case studies to illustrate how these funding and finance sources have been used to implement active transport more effectively as part of SUMPs.
