An interdisciplinary project that aims to identify pathways to sustainable transport and land use development in growing cities in the Global South.

Cities in developing countries are at a crucial point: they are facing the choice of either repeating the mistakes of more developed countries and establish a car-oriented mobility - or they directly choose the path to more sustainable cities.

In this context, T-SUM is an interdisciplinary project that aims to support the implementation of sustainable mobility structures in identifying the conditions under which sustainable and inclusive transport and land use development is accelerated.

The platform focuses on the co-production of knowledge, and is currrently interrogating urban transport and land use data in two rapidly developing cities in the sub-saharan region, Maputo and Freetown.
